Giving your phone for homework?

You hand over your phone for homework, but you can't see the screen. With Study Mode on, only the study apps and websites you choose will open. No games, no YouTube, no Instagram, no adult sites. Your UPI and WhatsApp stay locked behind your PIN.

Adult websites blocked, always

"I'm doing homework." Are they?

Your phone has everything on it. With Study Mode on, all of this stays shut until you enter your PIN.

  • Videos and games. One YouTube video, then reels, then games. Twenty minutes of maths becomes two hours.

  • Social media. Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook, where strangers can message your child.

  • Unsafe websites. Adult and violent content is one search away.

  • Your money and chats. One tap in GPay or a game, and your money is gone. WhatsApp and your photos stay private too.

Two things a phone's kids mode can't do.

Most phones come with a free kids mode. It only works if you remember to turn it on, and it lets in the whole browser or none of it.

Always on

It protects the phone you didn't hand over

You're cooking, the phone was on the table, and now it isn't. You didn't turn on Study Mode, but adult websites are still blocked and Google search results stay clean.

In Study Mode

It opens only the websites you choose

Teachers send links, and projects need searching. The browser opens the websites on your list, and everything else shows a block page.

Two minutes to set up. One switch after that.

  1. Set it up once

Choose the apps and websites your child needs for study, and set a PIN only you know.

  2. Switch on, hand over

Turn on Study Mode and give your child the phone. It stays on until you take it back.

  3. PIN to get it back

Enter your PIN and your phone is yours again, exactly as you left it.

Your phone stays private. From us too.

Your phone holds your chats, your photos and your money. FocusEdge works entirely on your phone, and never sends us anything about what you or your child do on it.

  • What FocusEdge keeps
  • Your PIN, scrambled so even we can't read it

  • Your list of study apps and websites

  • Your email, to sign you in

  • What it never records or sends
  • Which apps or websites were opened

  • Messages, photos, contacts or files

  • Your location

  • Anything about your child

Questions parents ask

Which phones does it work on?

Android phones, including Vivo, OPPO, realme, Xiaomi, Samsung and others. Some phones switch apps off to save battery, so setup shows you the one setting to change on your phone. FocusEdge is not available for iPhone.

Can my child turn Study Mode off?

Not without your PIN. Settings and the Play Store are locked during Study Mode too, so nothing can be installed or changed.

Does it read my WhatsApp or see my photos?

No. FocusEdge only checks which app or website is opening, so it can allow or block it. It never reads messages, photos or anything inside an app, and nothing is sent to us.

What if my child needs an app that isn't on the list?

Your child taps "Ask a parent" on the block screen. Enter your PIN and choose to allow it for now or always. It takes a few seconds.

Does it need the internet?

No. The switch, the blocking and your PIN all work without internet.

Can I remove it?

Yes, it's your phone. Uninstall FocusEdge like any other app, whenever you like.

Next time they ask for your phone, you'll know it's homework.

FocusEdge is for Android and is coming soon to Google Play.
